Challenge

Hello

I have a problem downloading the CAD file of the Connect challenge

If it's for the 3D representation on the forum, you have to load an stl for the 3d file that can be viewed, and then separately the natives or STEP for the organizers and visible only to them.

Don't worry, there are three of us who didn't understand how to do it  (Wouarfff)

PS: Thanks again to Greg who told me how to do it

Weird! You must have forgotten to check a box because of the error message!

It looks more like a problem related to the transfer:
- either connection pb (insufficient speed in relation to the size of the file to be transferred, receiving server a little overloaded);
- or pb of size (are you well below 600MB)

Hello @BE concept

Fun! because to have more than 600 MB with solidworks you have to take care of it already and when the part is only 40 x40 x80 it would take a lot of chance to get to such a volume :-) :-)

@Zozo_mp: it's not the size of the part that makes the size of the file but rather the details: I just tested:
- a cylinder Ø100 lg 100: 52kb file;
- a Ø100 lg 1000 cylinder: 48kb file!

As long as the conversion is less compact, we have surprises (I had the problem with 3D PDFs).

@Stefbeno

Thank you for your judicious and relevant remark Stef.

In the model I already posted I was above 6,500 kb so still very far from 600 MB

So okay on the impact of the complexity you will see in a few hours a second more complex model that I will post for the contest where the number of KB becomes significant.
Halfway through the assembly with 11 parts I'm already at 305 kb which gives me some margin.  I'll tell you the total weight at the end.  :-)  :-)

I also can't put the STL file; I get the same error message.

Hello

In the 3D CAD file part, you have to put the native SW or CATIA file. L

Then, in the Downloadable files section, you have to put all the elements (a zipped folder is better I think) with native file, stl file rendered description etc.

Hello

@ Clémentine:-)   This is not the space that Aliende  and delrue.karyll are talking about

You have to post in a specific place to have the 3D vision in the competition area.

The other loading areas (these are the spaces that Clementine is talking about) are intended for the jury and the display of 2D images.

Look at the picture it still works :-)

No, I was talking about the 3D CAD file space that allows you to display the 3D in the viewer. It's this area that apparently bugs. But not for all, I see that some have managed to download their native file which is displayed in the 3D viewer.

Hello

The problem has been reported, we will keep you informed as soon as it is fixed in chrome.

Thank you in advance for your understanding,

Chloe

Hello Chloé

Just for the record, I use Firefox and it downloads without pb.

Moreover, why impose Chrome or IE6 which are only used to download Firefox  :-)  :-)

  @Clémentine Ok, we're talking about the same thing! Super!
