Chamfering followed by bending (with SW2016)

Hello

Well, I would like to make a box with 3 mm Dibon  (two 0.3 mm aluminum sheets that sandwich 2.4 mm of polyethylene).

This material cannot bend without being chamfered according to the final angle. In my case it's basic 90°.

So I would like to know how to draw this as automatically as possible, knowing that the following operations are necessary:

--> set the size of the box (inner or outer side)

--> make the 90° chamfers to a depth of 2.7 mm on the bend lines

--> bend to form the box (it's not the hardest part....)

There you go, I hope I am in charge of my need.

To read you ...

The best I think for your case is

create your material removal via a sweep to the right of the future folds

So you create a triangular profile that will serve as a shape to remove the material

It's up to you to create a fixation point to hold on to your internal crease sketch line

Visually your folds will have an external radiated and internal non-radiated pleat angles

so you will have to create your 3 D apart from them with external radius and without internal radius

and your flattening in another part

Hello

For my part, I would make the box in 0.3mm on the outside side, then I would make a 2.7 mm extraction on the inside  and then I would adjust the chamfers to 45° at the level of the folds.
