Format change impossible

Hello

A client, who will be called CP, sent me his models and basemaps.

Under SW15, when I create a plan (new document, plan) and then try to change the format (click must/properties/browse), the software does not recognize the basemaps (message: "The basemap cannot be found").

I tried to re-save the basemaps from the template, it doesn't change anything.

If I start the drawing with another client's template, it works until I insert the basemap from that CP client and from then on, I can't change which basemap is being called (whether it's this client or another).

Do you have any leads?

Hello, are you sure of the format of the basemaps???

Cdt

I think, how can we verify this?

- As I said, I tried to re-save the basemaps from the template (drwdot)
- an experience I also did:
I start with a format that works, I insert a background map of my client, it works, I try to change again, it doesn't work anymore

Hello Stef

Look in the general settings where your (drwdot) is located, while for your client it is included by default in the attached template.

Do a search with your explorer of all your (drwdot) on your or all your DDs because SW didn't handle up grade very well until 2015 and if you had at one time several SW versions on the same post it always ends up stepping on each other's toes.

See where he saves your (drwdot) and you'll know where the PB is.

When I change versions I always make a backup (SWsettings) it's safer. :-)

Kind regards

Ok, every time when you put the background it changes the access path, so when you want to change the background again, well normal it can't find the others, you have to go back and look for them. try to see the idea of @Zozo, I think that already after that you will know a little more

Kind regards

G.

Sorry guys, it's not a path problem, it finds the file well but when I validate it doesn't want to load it.
What makes me tick is that it's specific to this customer.

When you reload or change a basemap, I always proceed like this, and no worries (the famous 2-step method):

Right-click / Sheet property

I select the basemap in the list (even if the size is the same as the PRT file, you have to select it in the list) then OK

Right-click / Sheet property

click on the "Reload" button, then answer the questions (block, delete changed elements, etc...)

I guess you can't give the file to test?

Because it would allow you to see if it comes from your home already.

I've tried on several machines but it's an idea to try on an outdoor machine.
I look to anonymize them.

From your words you are already aware that it may be your customer who has recorded an error with his file...

Ask him for another version if possible! see if his file is not damaged!

Indeed, but it's not that easy to get the files. And I'd like to know why.

I made an anonymous version of the drwdot and slddrt. the OLD file is the file that was used before (and that still works well). I only put the A3 format, but I have the whole series (A4 to A0)...

pb_fond_de_plan.zip

Sorry but I did the test by leaving the new files in my download folder and it worked... I was able to change, change, change the background without any problem...

The file is delivered, we don't know what's stuck. We'll see if the problem happens again in the next case.

There is a 2-step method to reload a basemap, which works every time...

(I had already explained it in other topics)

maybe it would apply in that case
