Part Number Change in BOM and Balloon

Hi all

I have a small problem with my " BOM/bubbles " part numbers.
Can you explain to me what if I want to reassign a new part number and it is linked to the BOM and balloon?
I've been looking since yesterday but I don't understand the manipulation.
In the meantime, I wish you a pleasant weekend.

Hello jeanartenis,

During your MEP you insert a nomenclature by clicking on the desired view from the front. And also right-click on a view, and do link to the nomenclature.
I'll take a screenshot for you as soon as my pc is available.

Hello
Thank you for answering me.
I think I know the basic principle and I do as you do.
My problem is when I start changing the balloons or the guides and designations of my nomenclature.
I think I'm missing something, hence my question: Can I assign a new number to my nomenclature?
I don't always have a link between a number (bubble) and the number (nomenclature).
It also seems to me that when a new part is created, a part number is assigned. Can it be changed?

Thank you again.
Pleasant day

Hello

If I understand correctly, you want to customize the numbering of your BOM... Just?
In this case, I'll direct you to the use of component references:

Use the SOLIDWORKS Component Reference to Label Assembly Components

Hello jeanartemis,
Ok, well it's better not to modify the balloon manually, because it loses its links with the nomenclature.
In terms of creating a bill of materials with a new coordinate system, it's not in my field... Because I didn't need to.
… To be continued, good luck.

Hello and once again thank you for your answers.

Taking the answers from A_R and Silver_Surfer I changed the " article number" to " component reference" for each balloon, and everything went back to normal.
I've been using Solidworks since 1999 and it's only now that I'm realizing this (thanks to you).
We learn all the time. (I'm 63 years old...)

Thank you.
