Hello A question comes to mind, why do you want to change SW libraries? Then you can create a personal library: http://help.solidworks.com/2021/french/SolidWorks/toolbox/t_tbx_standards_custom.htm#hsn1450474076726
remrem, indeed I have already integrated several specific tapping in the library there is really the name of the type I want to modify.
What for?
Why not: ) In basic selection it always offers me a straight pipe tapped hole but this function is only very rarely used unlike a tapped hole. It's repetitive forever a reselection of the right type.
Also to know if we can create a new type in view of certain threads that we use quite specific. Yes, we can enrich one of the two, but I ask if it's possible.
At Cyril.f, yes I already had a lot of trouble finding some source files for specifications to remove or whatever, but now I'm starting to go around in circles.
I'll try to look for that.
Do you know a particular forum that is looking this far?
I agree @remrem I had been made to modify an annotation because it did not please the workshop. 1st update the modification has been skipped I have never changed anything since and the workshop has adapted very well to it. In my opinion it is a shame to change an annotation just for our personal convenience.
I remember a discussion on this forum about the same idea.
The conclusion was that it was certainly hard-coded into the software, and even worse, even if you managed to change the title, it is not guaranteed that it will be at the top of the list.
There was a long time ago when I created a new Custom Drilling Standard... here is a little tutorial. (See attached file) Then, to have more direct access to these types of holes, just put the most recurring ones in favorites in the list of the drilling assistant.... All you have to do is be vigilant in case of Solidworks updates so that the new version of the Toolbox does not overwrite your changes. By the way, I strongly advise you not to use the SolidWorks configuration file locations but to make copies of them to new locations and to reconfigure Solidworks (file location) to point to them. Also remember to Regularly back up your Solidworks " Settings " (*.sldeg file).
You need to have a SW pro / premium license to be able to edit the toolbox parameters (and therefore the threads that are included in it) and use the Excel table import/export.
Personally I modified threads (to add sizes mainly). It seems impossible to change the names of the different types of threads/holes.
I had tried with the root file but suddenly when I did the manipulation on toolbox an answer appeared by itself.
Doing almost only metric, making a copy and excluding all other standards, it is only this one that will be selected in the function.
And I just have to reselect my old standard to have the gas steps when I need them (very rarely)
Thank you maclane your idea put me on the track thank you.
Remrem, on the contrary I like to dig to make my life easier (and I'm curious to know how it works)
Even if it's to gain a click when you have to repeat the same operation multiplied by the number of people several times a day, it's frustrating (yes, it's a comfort)
I'm talking about optimization (keyboard shortcut, mouse drag, it's optimization and comfort)I'm not a developer (that's another subject) everyone has their own job, maybe it's very simple for the qualified person (or maybe not like in every job).
I thought about finding some very advanced things weird in terms of modifications or editing (it's still a potentially editable text) and not this one.
