Hello
I'm looking for a way to change the display settings of the feature manager (show description, hide display state) on all the files in my EPDM database.
I guess you have to go through a macro / a script but I don't know where to start. The steps I have listed:
- target a directory with the files to be modified (with its subdirectories)
- extract the file
- Change the Feature Manager settings
- archive the file (with a message when archiving)
- Skip to the next file
-etc...
Does anyone have any idea which tool to use? MyCADTools? MyPDMTools? Macro VBA? I'm not a VBA expert but I think I can modify an existing script with the doc at hand.
With Mycadservice's pdmtools tools you surely have a way to do all this in batches. Not having PDM I can't advise you on which one but by looking at the aids you will find what you are looking for. Or else you create a tick with the hotline and they will be able to guide you.
Edit: with Pdmtools you should find what you are looking for:

Thank you for your feedback, I couldn't find a MyPDMTools tool to do this. I was leaning more towards the BatchProperties tool of the MyCADTools suite (which also allows you to modify the SW properties of files in a PDM vault) but it doesn't allow you to modify the Feature Manager.
I still have to create a ticket!
Hello, FYI Visiativ told me that the MyCADTools "CopyOptions" tool allows you to copy options from one file to another, including FeatureManager options.
I haven't tested it yet because I first have to make sure that the other options that will be copied don't give me any problems :) .
