Choice of volume - impression function

Hello

I want to use the fingerprint function. I have an active part in an assembly. Once I have selected the "selection components" (parts of the assembly) and validated, I don't have a message that appears to be able to delete the outer volume. (it seems to me that it must appear from some information found on the net)

I end up with a "footprint" function in the tree and a room made up of several volumes.

I must have missed something...

This is the first time I've used the function and am on SW2013.

Thanks in advance!

The option to select bodies appears only if one of the bodies is dissociated from the rest of the volume.

If you can't select the bodies, your part is a complete whole.

Do you have a photo to attach?

Hello

Are you editing components in the context as specified in the help?

http://help.solidworks.com/2012/French/SolidWorks/sldworks/HIDD_DVE_INSERT_CAVITY.htm?id=fe511f11597c42daaaab3db4770050bc

"You edit the part, not the assembly. The changes you make are reflected in the original part file of the mold casing."

Finally I used the function on a simple part to see and it works.

My part must be poorly made or not suitable. I'm going to dig a little deeper. (I'm looking for the picture)

thank you for your speed anyway;)

I should have tested before posting ^^

it's a mechanically welded part and I had a very small gap between a tube and its passing Ø. The volume was therefore not completely closed. I won't be fooled next time!

You also have the option to use this
