Combine an assembly into a part (button not found)

[SolidWorks 2021]

Hi all

I have a problem that I can't seem to solve despite my research.

I created an assembly with several parts. But impossible to combine them before exporting, I can't find that damn "Combine" button. It doesn't exist on the student version of SW 2021?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello

Export as a step (or other neutral file), reopen as a part file (not in assembly otherwise you go back to your starting point) and then you should be able to combine your bodies as you wish.

Hello

The combine function is only present in parts, because it combines bodies, not components,

In the assembly you can do File > Save As and subtype select "Part". Your assembly will then be saved in part format and will be in multicorp.

Indeed doing the Step export will work, you will have to go to options > System Options > Import, uncheck 3D Interconnect and in the drop-down menu go to STEP, down check "import assemblies as multi-body parts",

Have a nice day
