How do I add a connection on a beam?

Hello

I want to simulate a very simple case in solidworks simulation.

A beam recessed at the ends with force applied in the center.

When I model it with a beam mesh, I have two connections that are positioned at the end of the ends allowing the application of the embeddings but I cannot apply the force to the center of the beam since there is no connection.

How do you add a connection in the middle of the beam?

Kind regards

Hello

You have to create your beam with two segments

Hello

You can also create a dividing line and thanks to it you can cut your beam.

Kind regards

Hello

Thank you for your answers.

The solution of creating the beam with two segments works well, but it is done directly on the part, which has an influence on the drawing and in particular the table of welded parts.

For the dividing line solution, I haven't figured out how to do it on a beam. Can you explain to me in more detail?

Thanks in advance

"Functions" tab, "Curves" box (in green), "dividing line" (this allows you to cut a face into several faces according to a sketch)

Hello

The "separation line" function does not seem to be suitable for a beam because the faces are actually cut but this does not create an additional connection in the simulation. The problem is that you can't apply loads to a beam workpiece surface, only to a connection.

Do you have another solution?

Thanks in advance!
