How do you lighten a dxf file import from solidworks, so that it is reduced to about 1000 strokes?
I have a layout of a machine that I want to transform into the dxf format simplify, so that I can integrate it into a plan of a building.
I have to remove the lines that are too close to each other etc.....

What do you want to do?
You can export to dxf by clicking on options to adjust the export settings.
Try to check the "enable blending" box to merge some overlapping strokes.

Hello
Just a question to understand:
Do you have Solidworks or do you only have the DXF file?

Hi @ ER
while waiting to know where the DXF comes from if you have SolidWorks with which software do you want to open this DXF What software do you have
Open a DXF file
Reading DXF files is therefore not done with just any software : it requires professional-level tools, capable of decrypting very heavy three-dimensional data.
Ideally, the software to be used to decrypt the encoding of a DXF file as faithfully as possible is naturally the software of its native company Autodesk.
To open this type of file, use Autocad if you can.
However, many other vector data programs are now capable of displaying the data contained in a DXF file.
One of the most advanced software programs for multi-dimensional development, the professional software 3DSMax , will always offer you optimal performance when displaying this type of file, and will even allow you to edit it.
In case of need, you should know that most other reputable vector software is capable of decrypting the DXF, but with a little less success, and above all, much less fluidity.
For example, Adobe's Illustrator software is able to process it after a long loading time, as well as the free Inkscape software, which will not give you a very faithful rendering.

Hello
Why not use layers to export only the part you want?

here is a list of logs likely to open a DXF
There\'s more than just autocad! adobe illustrator, CorelDraw, Picture It, PaintShopPro and many others open or work with dxf files. It would be the devil if XNView didn't know how to open said files. Otherwise, do your little shopping...
