Hello
I'm looking for a trick to apply the same thing as SolidWorks layers but in SWComposer.
I managed to apply a texture on one side only by splitting the geometry but I have two gray bands that I can't remove (see attachment)
The result is really mediocre.
If you have any solutions, I'm all for it.
Thanks in advance

Hello
If you go through the texture, in order to avoid the gray bands, you have to play with the aspect ratio and especially the scale.
See attached screenshot.

Yes, but we want to have a decal like on SolidWorks, not necessarily on the whole surface. Like a label?

When I need to do this kind of thing I actually base myself on a primitive
Click on geometry, primitives, create square .
Then I select my square, click on Enabled under Texture,Show
Then in the texture path I point to my label file and finally I deactivate the color of the square under Texture, Blend.
Edit: if you have the 3DVIA training manual the handling is on page 93/94

It was the mixing function that added the grey stripes to me!!
Thank you fthomas and thank you to my colleague in the office.
This makes it easy to add a label to a template.
FYI, the bmp format is accepted and supports the alpha channel and transparency of an image.

Yes but be careful, I don't recommend the BMP format which is super heavy (be careful with the perf)
To manage the alpha channel, it is better to use the PNG, which is much lighter
