How do I create a single BOM via multiple sub-assemblies?

I have 3 blends composed of 5 parts each.

  1. => Item 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14
  2. => Item 100,101,102,103 and 104
  3. => Item 200,201,202,203 and 204

How do you make the nomenclature of all this (keeping the article numbers linked)?

If I make an assembly where I put all this, it is impossible to have the N°Article 10 then 100 then 200

If I make 3 nomanclatures with a starting article number set (at 100 and 200), I can't gather them. He always keeps the column names line for me

The only solution it seems to me is to create a complete assembly of your assemblies

So you make an assembly of your 3 assemblies with virtual parts that you will hide

and there you will have your article numbers in increments if you wish

I have to put 3x96 pieces in virtual ?????

Ouch...

And with a parent assembly that contains these three assemblies and using the promote option?

See Help:

http://help.solidworks.com/2010/french/SolidWorks/sldworks/AllContent/SolidWorks/Core/Configuration/HIDD_NEW_ADD_CONFIG.htm

"Promote

Disbands the subassembly into the BOM and shows its child components, even if the BOM Type wants them to be displayed normally. For example, a first-level only BOM typically lists the subassembly, but not its child components. If Promote is selected, the child components are listed, but not the subassembly."

I didn't know this function. Practice!

On the other hand, this will not solve the problem of my offset of the article numbers I want to make.

And by double-clicking on each article number to replace it with the one you are interested in? (For example you double click on the 6 and you rename it 200)

I agree that it's a bit of a hack, that for the follow-up it's not gégé. But hey, it works pretty well^^

Yes, this is a solution being considered. But I wanted to know if there was anything better or not.

So, I think I'll do it like that. Thank you

In fact, if we create the nomenclature of the subassembly, renumber with the "Starting article number set (at 100 and 200)", and display the nomenclature in the upper assembly with the promote option (see previous message), it doesn't work? SolidWorks automatically renumbered?

Otherwise, I see that you have Axemble support, so the myCADtools utilities, so there are 2 utilities that could do that with a little configuration:

SmartBOM (manual and training videos):

Otherwise, another idea.

In the properties of your rooms (file, property), you create one with a specific name. Let's say "Item No". From there, you can put the specific number for each piece (1,2,150, etc)

Then, in your drawing, you create your nomenclature. Right-click on it, Insert column (right or left, it's up to you).

An option appears, leaves "custom property" in the column type and will select "Item No" from the second list.

And there you are, your coins appear with the desired number. All you have to do is remove the number column given by default by solidworks (and make yourself a specific model if you plan to reuse this type of nomenclature)

Several problems with your coin37coin method:

He said that renumbering the articles 1 by 1 in the nomenclature takes too much time when everything is on a single page and you propose to create a custom property for each of the 300 articles, I'm not sure it's faster.

This property will not allow the location in the drawing to my knowledge.

Hello

I use the coin37coin technique.

I create a personal property "rep." for my parts that I use for my bills of materials.

The advantage is that I can recover this property also in my detailed plans and in the identification of the parts on the drawing of the whole!

Yes, that's what I was going to say.

I have the impression (but it's only a feeling), that @thewarner want to re-use a numbering from other plans.

So I agree with you @.PL, it's tedious for a single plan. But if you use your parts on several ... at least you don't have to worry about it anymore.

That said, for the bubble. It does it rather naturally if you have inserted your nomenclature in first and put your collone on the far left (even if the default one is still there).

And, if necessary, you can also go to the properties of your bubble. In bubble text, instead of asking for the article number, you choose "custom properties" and the corresponding name in the second insert.

Well, it's just one technique among others

Yes, it's true that now you can use a custom property for bubbles, I forgot.

No worries. At least if @thewarner could ask the question, he has the answer like this^^

Otherwise a macro?
