How do you determine the projected surface of a part or assembly on a plane?

Hello

I am trying to determine the projected surface of a part or an assembly on a plane.

Hello

Are you looking to do that in a sketch?

See these tutorials

with that you should theoretically get out of it

good video

Hello and thank you for your answers.

In fact, I want to know the projected surface of an assembly on a plane (like a shadow) to be able to calculate its wind resistance.

I couldn't find an answer in the Utube tutorials which by the way are excellent!

Thank you for your help

Dan

well it's up to you to create a plan at x degree according to the push of the wind x;y; z

Create a sketch by converting features and calculating the wind reception area

if I understood your problem correctly

Thank you, it works.

It's tedious because my assembly is complex. I thought there was a method to create the sketch automatically.

Thank you again:)

Yes but no

You have to trace the outline of your part or assembly and this x times according to the desired angle

via convert entities it's quite fast
