Hello
I created pieces in the library
When I use them in an assembly and change the color for example
The original parts also change.
How to keep parts in the solidworks library without editing.

Hello
It seems to me that if you're in the assembly and if you click on the part in the creation tree and you give it the color or texture you want, it doesn't affect it... 9 a.m.
Hello
By pressing the button here, you can view all the colors applied to the rooms:
And by extension, modify them one by one more easily.
Care must be taken to apply to the component only in the correct display state and not to the part document.
Here is a small file of how I proceed
Thank you all
I think my question is not clear.
Example, I have a gray colored piece is in the library.
I create a new project and I use the same room in the library.
I assign a red color to this piece.
I am recording this project.
Everything is working well.
When I do another project and I'm using the same piece in the library,
I found that it turns red following the effect of the old project.
Conclusion: I don't want the piece to change its color, it remains gray (original color)
Hello
If you want the color to only appear in the assembly and not in the room, do as I showed you in the file of my last post, it will work. 9:10 a.m.
If you right-click on your piece and choose appearance (the ball of all colors)
You see a list of colors applied to your room.
you should have the name of your part with an assembly symbol on front
If you apply the color to this line, your piece only changes color in this assembly
Reminder:
Colors can be assigned to: the face, the function, the body, the part, the part in an assembly.
I think the color display priorities are in this order (the next one takes precedence over the previous one)
I then think of creating different display states on the part, for each new assembly.
To be sure, you can also make all your library parts read-only and the most hassle you are sure to make changes to the part.
Otherwise you have to assign the color in the assembly as others explained
