I want to create a conveyor (see p.j) and manage the total length (extrusion) via a variable that would be possible for me to modify without modifying the base part.
Or more simply, when I import this part into an assembly I will be asked for the length.
I don't think you have to go through a family of pieces because the length would be different each time.

As it's a profile, I think it should be made an element of a profile library...
Double L is right.
You have to make your part in a mechanically welded profile, even if it means linking the length of the part to the assembly (be careful even with the management of the links afterwards).
In this case, how can I make a reusable and editable library element in length?
