I recover different parts for the creation of a library of standard equipment. The parts are sent to me in STEP files by suppliers (then I put them back in PART file), however I want to integrate properties on each of the parts (price, reference, brands...) without having to retype the list of properties each time.
I tried to create a standard part with the texts of each property entered (attachment) but I can't open the STEP file with...
Although I have no solution to offer you ;-) (noonnn not growl no)
I note three things in your request because you write
without having to retype the property list each time.
I tried to create a standard piece with the texts of each property entered (attachment)
but I can't open the STEP file with...
I have the impression that you should clarify a little, because there are things that seem almost contradictory to me.
Because as a preamble, you say to recover STEP files from your suppliers. I assume that these files have no particular reference, except in the best case a file name that more or less corresponds to the supplier reference.
Can you describe the steps you take between the time you upload your file and the time you turned it into a PART?
The information has to come from somewhere! But maybe I didn't understand the connection between the standard piece -that you seem to have created- and a downloaded file. Even in computing, you can't create or add information to an incoming file, without completion rules (or auto-completion as you wish) and adapted means to achieve it.
3 possibilities: - Ask SW to use a default part/ASM template: default system/template option. - Use D.Roger's solution; - Copy and paste properties from one part to another or from a TXT file (especially interesting for parts already created).
Thank you very much, d.roger's answer worked well.
Otherwise to answer your question Zozo_mp, the parts I recover (in STEP) open in assembly... then I save them again as a PART file. My goal was not to have to retype the list of properties (the longest)
