How do you measure the volume in a container?

Hello

What is the best way to measure volume in an open container (i.e. at a given level)?

If you have any tips, I'm all for it!

Hello

In general, I make a piece that corresponds to the content and I measure its volume

Hello

Knowing the inner dimension of the container and the level (height) I would make a boss and in "Mass property" you can see the volume.

Hello .PL,

Agree with Tomalam's  answer, in addition in 2016, the Intersection function makes your life easier to create the internal volume, I made a video of the 2016 novelty.

Have a nice day

I don't have the 2016 version and for a complex shape, it's not easy to create the interior volume!

But I found the solution actually:

1) Create an extrusion that is much larger than the container, but that comes to the level I want, without merging the result

2) Then with the combine function, subtract the 2 bodies and keep only the one I am interested in to see its volume.

Thank you:)

Yes that's what I do with CREO, but I don't know what it's called under SW

@tomalam: edit your first answer indicating that there are more details on the method below + a video for a special feature of the 2016 version and I choose your answer as the best ;-)

I'm not going to steal @Mick Cordero 's idea anyway!

As long as you have a good answer it's good, even if it's not mine.
