I changed the name of the part file and when I open the drawing file, the locations of the different views and replaced it with rectangles with a cross.
The problem is that I can't find the function to regenerate the views with respect to the file with the new name.
Or you rename like before and you do that through Solidworks by right-clicking on the part and then Solidworks and renamed. In this way it modifies the name while keeping the link with the drawings and assemblies where where e is there...
You can also right-click on a rectangle with the cross
choose "show" -> SW can't find the file and asks you to search for it
Navigate to your room with its new name, validate
Right-click -> "show" on the other views.
If you get an error message, that the configuration is not found, or something like that, press CTRL-S, close and re-open the MEP, then the right click "show" should work
I'm sorry, I'm going to go off-topic and ask a beginner's question, but how do you use Solidworks Explorer?
We are not used to using it in my company, in general when I rename my plans I make the pyramid, part -> plan -> assembly -> plan. It's a good gymnastics but it's a bit slow, if exploring it allows you to go faster I'll take it.
Solidworks Explorer must be installed at the same time as Solidworks (there is a checkmark provided for this purpose in the installation). If it is installed, you should have direct access to its PackAndGo features, Rename, Replace and Move, via the context menu in the Windows Explorer:
So, in Windows, choose a Solidworks file, right click, Solidworks/Rename then put the new name in the box provided for this purpose and indicate if indicate if you want to update the parent files then OK:
To rename a room and its plan, you have to do the manipulation on the room and on the plan.
Of course, the files must not be read-only otherwise it will not work.
You can find the same features in the Solidworks Explorer window itself, which is accessible via Start Menu / Solidworks xxxx / Solidworks explorer xxxx.
