How do I set the capacity indications?

I have to make a trapezoidal bowl which normally, according to my calculations, should contain 750ML while the software tells me 44983.16mm3 or 450ML.

My piece is made up as follows:

140mm square base

50mm height

And 160mm square top edge.

1mm thick.

So I don't understand why Solid tells me such a mistake in containment.

Can I adjust this setting and if so, how do I do it?

Thank you very much.

Hello

In your file the internal volume is not created so not calculated, if we do it we get an interior volume is 1 081 683.50 mm3!

So more than expected!

Hello

Coyote is right, sSolidWorks calculates only the volume of the parts, not the vacuum.

So we have to create another piece that represents this emptiness.

How did you do the Coyote boss? A boss with draft or a combination by subtraction?

Because I made a boss to the next surface and I get a slight difference with your result. It's not much (Volume = 1126.67  cubic centimeters) but it's surprising!

Have a nice day

Hello Matthieu,

I did like you extrusion to the next surface!

Thank you very much!

I managed to solve my problem. I'm a beginner on Solidworks and I have to make a lot of objects for my company.
