How do you represent a perforated sheet metal?

I would like to represent a bent sheet with a perfo sheet without repetition of holes because it will weigh down my file.

How would you do it?

via a texture applied to your sheet metal

See this link

http://www.lynkoa.com/forum/3d/nid-d-abeille

the same about the same

except

the size of a whole sheet 2500x1200

which was not the case in the previous message

in apparenece and translucent support piece

I made a red boss on one side to show the transparency

See the attached file below

Hello

Indeed, as @gt22 says, all you have to do is apply a texture to all the surfaces you need.
The effect is still quite crude but for the representation it will be enough not to weigh down the file!

Hello

Here's where to find this appearance.

Hello

What is also not bad would be to do a repetition on a small circular area in order to show what the sheet metal should look like.

Otherwise, I haven't tried, but you can model this perforated sheet metal, render, make a capture, and then save it as an appearance. It can be useful if the holes are not round.
