Go to this site and test your configuration according to your version of SW (or the one you want): https://www.solidworks.com/support/hardware-certification/ The problem is often with the compatibility of the graphics card (if it offers you a driver= compatible)
I've had your exact config for more than a year. daily use, large assembly and simulation. For a portable station it works pretty well! All the ADA series has been supported properly by SLDW for over a year, otherwise I wouldn't have jumped into the unknown! Cons:
Unsurprisingly: big heavy and little autonomy. (but who cares!)
the screen format is confusing at first (16:10) but in the end better suited for CAD than 16:9
A real bubbling wind tunnel when you ask a lot of it.
a lot of settings at the beginning to unjailbreak windows, the MSI center, and NVIDIA. (technical support and tutorials to accompany easily)
I did several performance tests by connecting my secondary screen in HDMI, DISPLAY PORT, USB-C... the results are much better in HDMI because it corresponds to a direct connection to Nvidia. To optimize your purchase, you should therefore consider the HDMI connection.
