Mechanical design

Hello

which gives me a proposal that allows me to have the chain efficiency and the gear efficiency

and thank you for avence

Hello

The efficiency of a engrengage is generally between 97% and 99%. But it all depends on the material, the type of teeth, ... For the chain, the yield is the same.

Hello

What do you mean by gear efficiency? The gear ratio?

No. of teeth driven wheel/ No. of teeth driving wheel

If the result is less than 1, the output speed will be decreased relative to the gear input

Hello,

What Damien has given, I think is the gear ratio.

Yield

it is the ratio of powers:

Output power on input  power Ps/Pe

in straight graining

Yes, that's the difference between input and output power. Some of the energy is absorbed by the mechanism, mainly due to friction.

The (reduction) ratio should not be confused with the energy efficiency.

Z1 sprocket, Z2 wheel; reduction ratio "i=Z1/Z2" with Z2>Z1.

The smaller "i" is (Z2 >>Z1) the less energy efficiency is good, i.e. the slip loss of the profiles increases when "i" decreases. This is one of the reasons why it is sometimes desirable to reduce the size of the crop on 2 floors rather than just 1. We can also improve driving conditions.

Optimizing a meshing is complex. It is no longer much more in-depth in generalist training.
