Spring Design

Hello

I want to make a spring under Catia V5

1) I make the helical propeller

2) I make the low loop

3) but when I create the bitangent curve I get this message: http://cjoint.com/?DHDtuPaineN

Thank you

I don't know Catia but you can try to download this spring that was made under Catia to see the method:

Thank you, the link you advise me, is easy to make because there is no low and high loop.

Thank you

Yes sorry, I found better...^^

Hello.

The point you select on the propeller is not on the same "support" plane as the loop and the line you want to draw.

Several ways to correct, the simplest.

Change the propeller departure angle 99° put 90°

Thank you franck and for the tutorials too it's great!

Hello

What is the other method to fix the problem?

Thank you

Hello I put the video on you
For a better rendering (connection of the top and bottom loops) You will have to distribute the total angle between the bottom and top loops, it's not an obligation but it's cleaner (1/2 low angles and -1/2 top angle).
As you can see when you manipulate dynamically, you observe a reversal of orientation.
This effect is limited by positioning the mouse far enough away during the angular displacement and avoiding the value 0°.
I show the functionality of the terminals, it's not mandatory if you're the only one to handle the file.
But if colleagues have to use it, you have to shield as much as possible to avoid unwanted changes of orientation.

Re

I followed your method to rectify the problem, but I still have the same problem.

How to do it?

Thank you

Hello, better late than never (on the go).

If you can post your file, I'll look at the PB.

Otherwise looking at the screenshots I see an error, element 2 must be the helical cutting point by the plane.

Not the cutout function.

Here is my attached file, I can't attach the file from the site

Hello, here is the screenshot of the selection of the Bi tangeant line (with respect to a circle / with respect to a point).

And the attached file

Re

thank you for the explanations I understood

I received another internship proposal concerning the modeling of a propeller under CATIA V5 Here are the data:

  • Diam: 63cm
  • Blade Quantity: 3
  • Motor power: 500W
  • Maximum travel speed to be reached for the machine: 8km/h
  • RPM: 1000 revolutions per minute

I calculate the step via the forumthe step=v/N as at the bottom of the file  ci join

This step, ke uses it to create the propeller pitch under catia, how to create the propeller under catia

Thank you

Re

I found a video on youtube, I followed it that gave me this, but I don't have the right diameter
