CREO 2/3 hardware configuration

Hello everyone, we would like to upgrade our computer hardware in order to migrate from Proe Wildfire 4 to Creo 2/3.
Having consulted the minimum hardware requirements on the PTC website, I would have liked to have some feedback from your experiences regarding the computer hardware you use (Operating System, Nvidia or ATI graphics card, amount of memory...) and possibly know the compatibility problems you may have encountered.

For your information, we mainly do modeling, mold design, drawing and CAD/CAM
Kind regards

Hello

I'm on Creo 3 with a rental contract for the equipment.

The pc dates from September 2014.

On the image the config.

For the graphics card, it's an NVIDIA QUADRO K2000.

What software do you use for CAM? An Intel Core processor might be better suited for CAM.

Hello

I have Creo 2.0 at home that runs well on 4GB of RAM and an Nvidia graphics card.

And here is my work configuration:

For CAD/CAM I use PRO NC Machining from Ptc, mainly 3D machining

I got confused, it's Intel Core for CAD computing.

I corrected it in my original post.

I don't know what PTC recommends for CAM, but Powermill is very demanding on the pc configuration.

I think the following configuration would be adequate.

What do you think?

To tell you the truth, although I'm in DELL at the moment (because of the rental contract, I don't choose), I prefer HP workstations.

I've never had any problems with the speakers.

I didn't see a network card on your config?

Exactly, I must have clicked a little quickly in the options, but I won't forget it when validating the order.

Have you had stability problems with your station?

I installed Creo2 on my HP station which dates from 2010 and I have a recurring crash (blue screen) when I open a 2nd file.

No, I don't have any problems at the moment with the DELL station.

On my old HP station (Z400), I was working with Wildfire 5.

I didn't install Creo on it.

I own the same station, it's true that with Wildfire I've never had any problems.

The blue screen problem often comes from a memory problem.

May be inadequate or unsatisfactory

Indeed, I run with 3GB of RAM and on a 32bits XP pro.

The problem certainly comes from that.

I just had the problem last week.

I had a 2GB RAM stick that didn't work anymore. So at the slightest video it crashed.

I observe that your performance index is around 4.2 and 5.9. The detail of who slows down the system would be interesting.

For me, it's disk transfer.

Alternatively, if you really need to work with little memory, you can try increasing the size of the virtual memory file.

It's slower when you're in virtual memory, but it can help.

@s.b. if you switch to SSd in system disk you will go up very quickly in index

I admit that I have seen differences both in the boot of the pc and in the launch of the applications

It seems to me that this performance index no longer exists on windows 8.

@Tomalam, it's not because you have a small note, that you have to display it in small. ;))

@tomalam what graphics card do you have?
