Thermal stresses

Hello

I have a tube, inside the vacuum (a few millibars) and a thermal power. Outside, air and convexion.

I would like to know, as a function of time, the internal stresses of the material due to the thermal power and the temperature gradient on the internal and external walls.

Does anyone have a method or a tutorial?

Thank you

Under Solidworks!

Hello

Do you own Simulation Pro containing thermal simulation or FlowSimulation?

If so, you can do whatever you want and there should be tutorials or videos on these two modules of SolidWorks.

Yes, I have both modules.

But where to find the right tutorials?

Re

There are already some in SolidWorks see attached image.

With Flow Simulation you should be able to do it

@+ ;-)

I would like to be helped or guided on how to know the internal stresses of the material due to the thermal power and the temperature gradient on the internal and external walls.

what version of SW do you have

have you flow simulation

can you post your piece

The online help didn't bring you anything?

Version 2012 and 2013.

I have access to the thermal and flow modules.

Attached, a simplified representation.

well I got your file

What is your real question?

What is the inter pressure?

What is the external pressure?

What is the temperature outside?

I would like to know, as a function of time, the internal constraints of the material due to the thermal power and the temperature gradient on the internal and external walls.

- Inter pressure: 2x10-2 millibar

- Ext pressure: 1 bar

- Outdoor temperature: 20°C

- Thermal power inter: 5000W

- Tps of study: 180 sec with a 10sec step
