Convert an edrawing file to a step

Hi all

Does anyone have a solution to exploit a *.easm in Solidworks.
For example, is there a way to convert *.easm to *.step to reintegrate it into Solidworks?

thank you in advance

Edrawing file = protected file so the goal is intellectual protection.
So unless this option was present at the time of exporting to edrawing:

Unable to export to another format.
If this option was checked, export possible in stl and only stl.

Except that you can't integrate an stl into an assembly, with all due respect of course...

Yes @Le_Bidule , even if the format is not great (triangulation), but the option still has to be checked otherwise even the stl is not allowed.
Personally no stl checked, we protect our data.

There are some subjects on which publishers - whoever they are - don't laugh, it's THE MONEY :money_mouth_face:

Okay but if it's to create an Edrawing from Solidworks, open it with Edrawing and then exportable it in STL to be able to use it in Solidworks we lose a little time and data in the process, right? :upside_down_face:
For me the answer is: No, you can't use a *.easm in Solidworks.

Hi @Maclane

In fact, we only found a *.easm of a project and we would like to reintegrate this file into solidworks.

That's not the goal actually@Maclane .
What I'm saying is that unless this option (stl) has been activated, it's impossible to recover a file that can be used in SW.
And the purpose of exporting in edrawing in general is to render a 3D file for validation, but not usable under 3D software.

@Rems51 if you save as from your edrawing file and you can't find the stl option, it's done, file unusable under SW

yes, but very often there are countermeasures, like on Navisworks for example, there are addons that allow you to convert a file intended only for visualization to *.step.

Hi @sbadenis

Exactly, thank you again, but of course the file I'm interested in is locked.

Already looked and never found a functional trick to do what you ask @Rems51 .
Obviously Dassault protects its files better than Autodesk!
Sorry for you!

Yup, bad luck @Rems51 :sob: ... it is also to be hoped that the "allow measurements to be taken" option has also been activated on the Edrawing and that the project in question is not too complicated.
