Hi all
How to Dimension Holes by Diameter
Generally the position of the holes in relation to the center of the part is dimensioned by placing them on a circle of Ø, today to make this circle I draw a sketch from the center of the part passing through the center of the holes.
I'm not sure it's the best solution but hey, on the other hand when I have a lot of holes and in addition positioned on different shelves it quickly becomes a hassle.
Is there a function or method that allows all this to be done automatically?
Thank you in advance.

Hello
When I have a lot of drilling to dimension, I use the drilling tables.

Hello
See this video in English but simple to understand:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFdCh1XhBrI
See also the help page:
http://help.solidworks.com/2012/french/SolidWorks/sldworks/Dimensions_Between_Arcs_or_Circles.htm
But I think that displaying the temporary axes (T key on the keyboard by default), allows you to dimension this more simply and without sketching.
Edit: drilling tables as proposed by @Frédéric are a good solution, see here:

I dimension in relation to the center of the circle
The drilling table also works very well while allowing automation. But I have a workshop that is frankly resistant to it!

Hello
for an automatic dimensioning you can go to annotation then model objects and there all the dimensions of the part appear, You just have to position them but if you double click on them and you modify it is the part that will change because these are the construction dimensions....

@manu67 's solution is quite suitable if you already had the design intention when sketching (and it's better to take the shot, because it saves a lot of time).
I talk about the objects of the model in my tutorial "SolidWorks beginner tips" available on Lynkoa here:

Thank you all,
Indeed, in the case of a part with many holes, I use the drilling tables.
I chose to highlight the GT22 tutorial, forward because there are 2-3 tips that could certainly help some of us.
Kind regards.

Hello samos024,
The gt22 tutorial is well accessible, it just takes a little time to open...
I invite you to wait a few seconds to access it:

Thank you

@Clémentine I just redid the test and nothing; The page has finished loading and no link appears.
I'll put you a screen of the page, I'm on firefox maybe that's the reason.
I would tell you with a lot of humor that I let the seconds become minutes but still nothing.
Kind regards.

Hello
Indeed, there are 2 problems:
When you open it on firefox: nothing is displayed (see screenshot of samos)
When you open it on chrome: the content is displayed but when you click on the url = nothing happens
Does it only do it on this tutorial or on others?
I entered a ticket from our service provider.

I think we need to do a general check of the links
for me no problem it works and I don't know why ;-)
But the fact is that for the members many times I was told that the links did not work
So I have to take the URL and copy and paste on the answer to the question so that he can access this or these tutorials live on youtube it's painful
Not to mention that I cannot obtain the points and comments that could be taken into account
When you visualize the amount of visits and the number of comments, I think you can ask yourself the question of why and how
The fact is that you too @ clementine said that it worked
and in fact no it doesn't work
and I'm not even talking about the tutorial search on the site, it's a real disaster
