Does anyone have a solution to rate NGF levels on a SW MEP?
The solution I had found is the vertical ordinal dimensioning, the pb is that the level 0 NGF is 45 meters below the view where I have the level points to grade, I don't have a reference to hang my reference point 0.
Hello, the only solution I can see is to put a dot or an axis at zero.
You can create an axis at an arbitrary distance, create a dimension with respect to a known coordinate system and let it control (or fix the position of the axis). Create all the other dimensions and finally modify the driving dimension and then fix the position of the axis.
Otherwise you would have to change all the dimensions one by one.
Edit: another solution is to do this in the 3D, by inserting a plane at a small distance, dimension everything in the 3D, then change the distance of the plane to its actual distance, and finally use "insert model objects" to display the dimensions in the plane.
Edit 2: confirmation that there is no simple solution and that SolidWorks is not designed for:
In the 3D model, I have created an axis (or a point) which will be the reference NIV.0 NGF
In the Drawing I display the axes, I dimension the levels with the vertical ordinal dimension, I hide the axes, and I can even hide the dimension 0 (either by simply hiding it or by assigning it to a layer that I deactivate) this allows me to have only the desired dimensions
This solution works very well.
I'll try the 2nd solution later with the plans and I'll keep you posted
