Crash at the opening

Hello

It has been several times in a few hours that SW crashes at the opening of a shot...
Latest report number: sldworks:121DF7050

Any idea? It's frankly becoming very painful!

Hello

Does this happen on 1 plane or on all planes?

Kind regards

- Room or asm plan?
- the machine has been stopped and then restarted (and not simply restarted);
- Attempted opening on several machines?
- Do the model(s) called by the MEP open correctly?

This happens on several levels, of different models.
There are multiple leaves in each shot.

These are plans of rooms.

No, the machine has not been stopped/restarted. I do it now.

If the problem persists, try repairing the software as well as updating the drivers of the PC elements.

I switched to SP1.0 (2018) last week.

It makes me think that when installing the 2018 version (and it's not the first time), the installer asks for a restart of the computer, which is done but the request comes back systematically.
Given Steffeno 's answer, I deduce that it would have been necessary to stop/start probably.

Similarly, my colleagues and I did this installation of a new version in an updated way (proposed by the installer).
This could be a clue, especially since we had to manually redirect some of the file location paths (replace "2017" with "2018").

Hello

For the installation of a major version of SolidWorks, it is strongly recommended that you uninstall the previous versions, remove the remaining items, and then install and configure the new version.

Kind regards

Yes, often we think we save time by doing a simple update but in the end we end up uninstalling and re-installing everything so double waste of time in the end...

Are we learning from our mistakes;)

Bravo to Dassault for proposing it as an installation option in this case:)

Luckily it's not my main software (long live TopSolid!).

yes, I'd be curious to see the state of the registry as well as the ProgramFiles, temporary and other folders after several installations of TopSolid, or any software for that matter!!!!!

Hello

Once I had this problem and I got around it by opening my assembly in solved mode and then I  opened the plan. It unblocked me.

May there be strength with you.

The advantage of TopSolid is that at the big updates they come to do the installation... Quiet!

Oh but in fact once it's made the mistake after it opens once SW is restarted, but it can come back on the next plan...

Thank you, master.
