Hello
I'm just starting to use SolidWorks, so I'm not up to speed with all the settings. I would like to know if it is possible to create a 3D file in the middle of the indicated tolerance. An example to better clarify: When I create a simple part with a thickness that is between 30.00 and 30.05, my dimension in the sketch will be 30.00, then in the drawing, I insert the tolerance. However, this way does not correspond to the programmer of the company who uses my 3D for the programming of the machining. Would it be possible to insert a tolerance and have solidworks automatically adjust the 3D? That is to say for the example cited, when I give my tolerance, can SolidWorks modify the 3D in order to have the rating at 30.025?
Thank you
Hello
No, it's up to you to create the parts with the middle tolerances . I have the same problem with kes tolerances in the holes.

Hello
Isn't there a tool that allows you to do this in the Mycadtools pack (for those who have it)?

Thank you for the answer ac cobra 427,
We'll deal with it.
Hello PhilippeB
I downloaded the Mycadtools package, and I couldn't find anything that could solve this problem. I may not have found the parameter. Do you use this pack?
Hello,
The "Tolerances" tool from myCADtools allows you to automatically transform your part into average dimensions in a new configuration

Since you're at Visiativ and have access to Mycadtools, there's the Tolerance add-in that does exactly what you want:
https://help.visiativ.com/mycadtools/2018/fr/PrsentationdelutilitaireToleranc.html
To do this, you need to install the MycadTools toolbar:

Link for installation at the top left.

I was able to watch the video of acombier and the tutorial of sbadenis, but I still can't believe it. I don't understand how to insert a tolerance with this tool. I also tried to insert the tolerances using DimXpert and then go back to the mycad tool and calculate, it doesn't work. Will one of you have the steps to perform for the insertion of tolerance?
Thanks in advance
Here is an example, for easy use I put the tolerances in my sketch (which then allows me to retrieve them in my MEP)
I launch the utility, I click on the calculation tab, on create a derived configuration, then on average and there it creates the configuration derived from my part with the average dimensions.
Edit: For the part with tolerance you click on all this you import all the coasts then you choose the tolerance in the tolerance application part. (but part not mandatory if you do my method above)

Otherwise for those who don't have the MyCadtools tools here is a link (macro not tested) that seems to do the same thing as Tolerance:
https://www.codestack.net/solidworks-api/document/dimensions/create-average-dimension-values-configuration/
In addition, this site has a multitude of other rather nice macros.
And a good basis for the introduction to SW macros.
