Part family creation impossible on solidworks 2020/windows 10/office 365

Hi all

My design office has recently been equipped with new premium config CAD stations... super! Except for 2, on all of them we find the same problem: impossible to create a family of parts. Insertion/table/part family, empty or automatic, nothing happens.

After many uninstalls, reinstallation of solidworks and office, cleaning of the registry, always the same problem.

We compared everything with the 2 stations on which everything works properly, and we found nothing.

The craziest thing is that when running SW in admin mode, it works; The problem is that in this mode, access to the file on the company server is not possible.

Help please!

Hello

Since you have access to the Mycad tool, I assume that you are under maintenance. It would be quicker for you to open a ticket with the hotline and they will take over your PC to see what is wrong.

From memory, we had the same problem on a workstation, and the computer had gone back to an older version of excel to correct the problem.

The ticket has of course already been opened, I'm waiting to get a response (ticket still not assigned); It's a really blocking problem:

On 2 workstations everything works well, on 2 others, impossible to create but editing possible, and on the last one, neither creation nor editing possible.

As for switching to an earlier version of excel, given that we use office 365 with automatic upgrades, not sure that it is possible.

Hello @surfer of money

If it works in admin mode and KO in user mode, it smells like rights not assigned somewhere to the two workstations concerned.

Kind regards

Well all users are admins of their workstation...

I have the same problem, and it's an administrative setting , under win10,

I would be "need admin" on the network=> so local solidworks works at the top, but my toolbox management on the network is blocked.

a story of write rights following links to the server

Total control necessary because having the right to describe on the networks in Win10 does not mean all the time to write the right to describe ..... with office!!

We're still looking for a way around it

Fixed issue but in heavy artillery mode: Formatting and reinstalling.

Formatting and reinstalling was faster than fixing the issue;

Full control of the workstations has been conceded to the users, much to the despair of the IT department, but hey, when it has to be, it has to.
