Hello Charley,

I just found this, but it's for Autocad, I think it will work for Solidworks.
Good luck, @+.

Hello;

Here is the explanation for importing a *.txt file for a point cloud in Solidworks...

Kind regards

Thank you, I had indeed seen this function but it allows you to generate lines or curves, not just points... I would need exactly the same thing but only to place points.

… Maybe this then?

Interesting! Except that the last macro doesn't work.

strange, the CodeStack macro works at home...
Did you follow the instructions?

Which version of Solidworks do you have?

=> Open the model and create 2D or 3D sketch (or edit existing sketch)

(Optional) Pre select coordinate system if points need to be imported relative to this system
Run the macro. Specify the full path to CSV file in the displayed file browse dialog
Click OK. Points are created in the active sketch

Try the launch macro in step mode (F8)...

It wouldn't be a story of . or , which would be problematic?
Try testing the macro with 2-3 integer digits to see if it changes anything.
And otherwise to test as requested by @MacLane in step mode for debugging (Tools, Macro, edit, then F8)
