Getting started with draftsight

Hello

I have a little problem understanding with draftsight.

I can't resize a rectangle.

Either I give the dimensions directly, or I modify in the drawing with the mouse but no way to modify the dimensions by entering the values (they are grayed out)

On the other hand, with circles, it works (I can manually enter the position of the center, the radius or the diameter and even the circumference)

How to do it?

Hello

Can you post a screenshot showing the problem?

Hello

Thank you for taking an interest in my problem.

Here is a screenshot for the drawing of a circle, no worries I have access to the position, diameter, radius and even circumference values.

On the other hand, for a rectangle either I have to indicate the right dimensions when creating, or I don't know how to modify them.

Well, I realize that what I took for dimension values, are not.

So I really didn't understand anything and I really don't see the logic of the thing.

Someone to help me???

To resize a rectangle, you can use the "stretch" function.

Thank you

But what I would like is to be able to enter the values precisely. With the stretch function, it's quite messy and not easy to cazler on the right value.

Hello.

Draftsight is not SOLIDWORKS!!

Will it give you an idea to handle Draftsight!!

Good luck!!!

With the "stretch" function, you select your entities to modify and then type the desired value. It is quite precise.

As Oherbreau suggests, you might need to do some tutorials or training to master the basic 2d tools.

Hello, I see that Drafsight considers a rectangle as a polyline.

What if you make 4 lines instead of a rectangle!? can you change the odds??

(I know it's a hack, once again...)

I did the tutorial, these are basic functions that look like all drawing software.

On the other hand, with the stretch function and enter the value directly, it works very well.

It was simple actually, thank you for your help.
