Cutting (bias plane) on a tube

I want to make a bias (inclined plane) on the end of a tube but ensuring that the thickness of this tube remains normal to the axis.

Remove the main material and adjust the thicknesses with a second or even a third!!

Or make a cut with an S-shaped sketch! See PJ

If your tube is in fact a bent sheet metal, when removing the material, check the option "Remove. of normal material" in the material removal function.

If it is for machining, it is necessary to go through a sweep, using a projected curve function as a guide curve.

What are you in?

you want the cut to be the same thickness everywhere, with a 45° cut

That's right

Yes, I want a constant thickness.

A sheet metal type function would be good.

on the other hand it must apply to a dead volume (STP type) so not unfoldable.

Thank you

An example and an illustration if it is for machining.

SW13 model.

Sheet metal solution. But not on a direct dead body. Before doing so, you should use a "Sheet Metal Conversion" function

@ benoit was the quickest to reply

so I don't post my file ;-))

If it's for laser tube, the laser manufacturers' software processes the edges in the bevel cuts without any problem!

Ok under solidWorks, but under Catia?

Thank you

Summary of the problem:

Solid death, with no possibility of sheet metal recognition.

The laserist is unable to extract a mineable

I obviously simplified my request, as you can imagine that the design is much more complicated.

I'm looking for a rigorous solution under Catia v5.

Thank you for your efforts

It would also be nice to specify what you want (which log)

under catia it's the same thing and easier

your X degree cut projected on the faces of your tube

and you make an elevation of matter via a sweep according to a square shape

That's it for now

Hello

In the future, to save time, it is best to specify the software used, either in your question or by ticking the corresponding box. =)

There's movement here! Are you already on a weekend? :D

your laserist has the ability to read Catia?

are you going to give him your Catia file?

I don't quite understand

Okay, guys,

Thank you for the walkthrough.

After some adjustments, it works.

Have a good weekend

@ a.khenniche I find you bloated to attribute the best answer

Unfortunately @gt22, since we still don't see which software is concerned by the question, I guess that indeed, it managed on its own!! Unfortunately!!!
