I'd like to enter a custom property whose text could wrap or resize if the entry in this field is too long for the intended slot in the title block.
Is it possible to automatically delimit the space that a custom property text should take in a title block, but without having to resize it by hand? Or even to automatically change the font size so that all the value of the property fits in the location?
I'm on Solidworks 2014 for a few more weeks, and then on 2016. I think that in the 2016 version it's much simpler in terms of cartridge creation, but will it be possible?
After testing (solidworks 2016), when you make your cartridge you delimit the place when you set up the frame of your annotation (with the custom property in it).
Version 2014 we too, as Nathalie says, just delimit the frame in width by giving it enough to make 2 (or +) lines in height and the text automatically moves to the line.
@nathalie_1 I can't see the images well, sorry, is it possible to remake them in larger size? :-)
@ac cobra 427 I don't really understand the fact of framing the note, it doesn't change anything in its content (which I would like to adapt according to the values that will be displayed by the property), right? And to set the width of the text, as soon as I exit editing the field, the option doesn't stay enabled :-(
Basically, it's the framing stage that I don't get for the moment. Or do I have a psycho-motor block that prevents me from doing it well:D
Here is attached what you need, create a note then click on adjust text (see attachment) and stretch the 2 red squares located at the ends that you see (in my attachment it is EXHIBIT 1)
If I understood your problem correctly, I think you should check the "line break" box and specify the length of the text box. Thus, in the case of a text that is too long, its formatting automatically adjusts . I use this ability to include the names of the components in my title blocks on two lines, along with the custom properties.
