Request info on mechanical strength calculation capabilities with Edrawing soliworks

Hi all

I had the plans of an aluminum structure made by a third party with the Edrawing solidworks software and I need to confirm the load resistances and the deformation of this structure during contarintes.

Please let me know if this is possible with Edrawing soliworks or if we need to use another software like Catia.

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Kind regards

Marc

Edrawing is just a visualization software.
If your service provider only sends you an edrawing file, you will not be able to do anything with it. It must communicate to you the sldasm and sldprt files.
Then with SW (depending on your version...), you can consider doing calculations.

Good evening StefBeno,

Thank you for your answer.

So if I understand correctly, if we have the SLDASM / SLDPRT extensions , solideworks can do the calculations of the strength of the structure in having to go through Catia.

Since I am not an expert in the field and in order to save time, do you have someone to advise me who, for a fee, could retrieve the edrawing data and use it to have a technical study of the resistance of my aluminum structure?

Yours truly,

Marc

as our friend says

If no part or assembly files

You'll have to recreate it so take all the dimensions  via eDrawing

and only then do the resistance study

@GT22: if I understand correctly, the prt and asm files are available, just Marc uses EDrawing for lack of SW license.

@Marc HBC: I don't have an office to recommend to you, as I don't have a need in this area. You can post an ad in the CAD Job Posting group.
It will be necessary to define the scope of application of the structure, the version of SW used.

@ stebeno

yet it marks recover the edrawing data

in his last message and no native file

Does it have the native files?

That is the question

Thank you all for your messages and the information provided.

I'll come back to the forum for feedback.

Yours truly,

Marc
