Unfolded an elbow

As I saw the part, it's an elbow on elbow stitching it seems to me with cross-sections #

show us a screenshot of the whole of the 2 parts and on the side please 2nd edition

After for your cuts, what tool do you have at your disposal?

it is in what matter

plasma, laser, grinder, cutter, milling machine, etc........

I don't have a particular side, I need the unfolded part which is in STEP so anyone can open it normally.

This will be cut with a grinder.

It's made of 304L stainless steel

So then in solidworks how could I cut my elbow into several tubes to be able to unfold my unfolded and create my pattern.

What version do you have of Solidworks................ File and image post

  1. via a Boolean operation
  2. via your extrusion to the surface
  3. via a scavenging material elevation
  4. via conversion of your internal junction angle into 3D sketch and material removal

etc...

It all depends on how you designed your room or rooms

So as Jfaradon says

a walkthrough but it's very long

You have to sausage your elbow

so for your axis of guide curves instead of having a 90° arc of a circle

you create several lines with identical angles

+ you'll have the right + it will be clean

see this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VU8EjtD6Tgk

An elbow by definition does not unfold (cf Jfaradon's com)! On your step the only template that is possible to make is the small right part out of the elbow. After there are ways to "cheat" to develop your elbow, it's to divide it into small cylinders side by side that are easy to develop). From there you get your template and you cut with what you want. Another solution is to stay in digital and you send your WWTP to a company that does plasma or 3D laser cutting.
