Hello
You always have to convert to sheet metal from the beginning of the creation because the stamped reinforcements cannot be unfolded. And even once converted to sheet metal, you also have to temporarily remove the stamped features in the creation tree to be able to unfold. The unfolding function must also be set before stamping, since you can easily switch from folding to unfolding.
Then for the MEP you have to be smart to have both the stamped part and the view of the flattening.
Indeed, the stamped parts must be considered from the point of view of matter as matter that has been beyond the limit of elasticity: which means that it is no longer possible to reset, even in real life.
Last recommendation, be careful because your flattening will be totally wrong if you want to do laser cutting, on the other hand if it's with a tool to follow it doesn't make sense.

Via the surface
with flattening tool
you will have the development of your part if SW 2017 or +

Last question can we make a core and an imprint from this part (for stamping)

Hi friend gt22
I say that you are right because you answer the question well.
But as a matter of mutual aid between colleagues, I repeat that once flattened , if @ggdgjo made a laser cut, well these parts will go directly to the dumpster because the shrinkage and the edge and thickness deformations are not taken into account by SW in the event of stamping. (It is no coincidence that specialized stamping software has been created) As drawn, the drawing is already wrong.
Moreover, even if @ggdgjo wanted to make a simulation of the PEF resistance of this reinforced part, well the result would be false to very false. The part will be strengthened but also weakened. So the reinforcement on one side must not weaken the other
@ggdgjo can you post your piece please there are two points that intrigue me and that I would like to check. This will help you with the second request @gt22 suggest you open.
Kind regards
