Index Difference Between SolidWorks and eDrawing

Hello everyone.

I'm having problems with the display of hints in the preview tab of some drawings.

The problem is not systematic and occurs on few references.

When I validate my parts to A-index, the workflow updates the part and drawing properties, and the mep title block correctly displays A-index on SolidWorks. But some mep still show a dash in the index area of the cartridge when I go through the preview tab of the Windows explorer.

The preview tab uses eDrawing to allow all users who do not own SolidWorks (users on the shop floor) to have a visual of the part or the mep. And that's where the problem lies, when I open the drawings concerned via eDrawing, the title block does not show an A index but a hyphen. The problem persists when I simulate a modification with validation without hints to try to force.

Could you explain to me how to solve the problem and why it is not present on all the references? (visual attached)

Thank you in advance.

Damn, I had the problem I had solved but I don't remember why!

Wouldn't this be a difference between custom properties and config-specific properties?

I checked on one of the parts concerned having only a "default" config, no.

Both in the custom properties and in the configuration-specific fields, the two Review fields are marked A.

Hi everyone.

I go back to my question, I still haven't found a solution.

Thanks to the contributors.

I assume you use a PDM for workflows?

Maybe you should go and look in the SQL database.

Possibly try to update the variable (right click --> modify --> variable --> update, or something like that)

Hello

It seems that you have to open the MEP and save it because the icon is an image of the last recording and as Edrawing opens the recording image and not the MEP, it could be that it comes from there... Try to open the plane in question and then save it and try to open it later with Edrawing.

Thank you AC Cobra!

This is indeed a preview of the last recording, so I was able to solve the problem by switching to admin mode to "save" in version A.

But I have the impression that the problem will remain with the user "Lamba" who only has extraction rights in "editing in progress" mode.

Either it brings the problem back to me every time and I do the manipulation in admin, or I have to delete the variable modification when I switch the part to "modification in progress", but in this case it poses risks of broadcasting shots with an indexed cartridge while they are in progress in the system.

Well that's internal mess, I'll see how to do it.

I'm waiting a little bit before going into "best answer" mode, see if anyone has a solution on this second problem, you never know.

Thank you in any case.

We also make PDFs of our MEPs, it avoids this kind of inconvenience. The people at the workshop still have the latest version of the PDF in the file.

Hello

The same goes for us for PDFs, with these created automatically during the final validation of the MEP.

Kind regards
