Different results between FLOW SIMULATION and MECAFLUX in terms of pressure losses

Hello

I want to calculate the pressure drop of a round glass tube with an inner Ø32mm and a length: 2000mm, with an inlet of 4m3/H of air at 20°c.

With MECAFLUX I find 2.88PA of pressure drop.

With FLOW SIMULATION I find: 19.35PA of pressure drop.

I don't know why, except that I'm wrong about the results of flow simulation.

Can you enlighten me please.  thank you

Hello Patrice

FlowSimulation is quite complex but above all very reliable.

Have you received any substantial training on this software (how many days):  because from what I have not seen you cannot tinker to obtain opposable results.

The slightest parameterization defect and boom we only get aberrant results.

What I remember is that your tube is made of glass, so probably with a very low friction factor. You just have to use a basic calculation formula to find out which of the two software programs has been misconfigured or misused

Kind regards

Hello

I don't have solidworks flow simulation, I just have solidworks and mecaflux for the calculation of pressure drops,

I have to calculate the pressure drop of this tube, and my client arrives with SFSimulation data that is not identical to my results found with MECAFLUX, I have done with other various software on the internet and I find other results but which are close to MECAFLUX.

I would have liked to have had a result  of the pressure drop by SFSimulation because I have a complex part to calculate the pressure drop, this MECAFLUX cannot do, if I would have found a consistent result between MECAFLUX and SFS I would have made it close my complex part.

Hello

I can't help you further because I don't have SW Flow Simulation.

You have to ask VISIATIV for a one-off service because they have Flow Simu experts.

Try on the American forum you may have more opportunities.

Kind regards

OK thanks, I think I'm going to buy the flow simulation+ HVAC + 5 day training and I could do it.

Thank you for your help

Thank you for your feedback ;-)

Since you will have the chance to be trained a friendly little council.

- Take your case to the training so that you will be trained on your need which is not as simple as it seems. And you'll be pretty sure you've solved your PB in your customer relationship.

- If you buy the license, you will have mandatory access to maintenance for one year. This way  you can be helped by the hotline once you get home because you often don't need a little reminder on complex cases.

Kind regards
