Distribute a 3D object on the internet

Hello everyone, following my Web e-commerce project, I need to distribute different 3D objects on my site, created from a 3D software.

Several solutions are available to us:

- Set up 2D images of my 3D view (3 Images to give different angles of view)

- Host our 3D file on a host and set up the link directly on our site, where a 3D vision will be displayed directly, with the possibility of rotating around the product, zooming in/out.

We currently find 2 3D hosts, the problem is that with one the texture of the product does not appear (since there are 3 different textures), or the navigation around the product is quite complicated, and not fluid.

Second problem: There are more than 3000 files to convert, and I can't see myself integrating them 1 to 1, knowing that each internet link must be associated with a file name. We can therefore very quickly mix up our brushes, and the result of our work will not be incorrect.

- Last solution, (which I imagine) integrate inside the site a "program", preconfigured with the different links of each product (That's easy),  on which we scan our folder containing our 3000 files (In the necessary format).

So I come to you hoping maybe to find help, information? Have you ever broadcast one of your 3D creations on the net (or even this forum), with what? Was the texture preserved? ... The slightest information is of interest to my team and me.

Thank you for your help. Yours truly.

Hello

Have you looked at the product myProduct

It is part of Visiativ's myCADservices Premium offer

It allows you to convert and host your 3D models in a 3D viewer format, retrieve the HTML code and integrate it into your website

Hello, thank you both for your very interesting answers.

S.B for Scketchfab, we try, the problem is that the texture I introduce to my product disappears during the transfer. So I'll make inquiries.

It's super interesting the information you provide me, but the question is always the same: Is it someone if the texture set up on Solid is kept?

Compared to scketchfab, it is much more expensive, and the problem is there once again that you have to introduce the 1 to 1 files

Thank you in any case for your answers:)

Have you tested 3D pdfs, vrml?

vrml? I don't know, what is it?

PDF 3D the rendering is very good, I look with my developer if it is possible to integrate on the website a program like "Acrobat", capable of automatically reading the file.

Because getting 3000 or 6000 files in 3D PDF is easy with a task manager.

The only  downside  that I don't like on 3D PDF, but surely you have solutions for it?  I don't like navigation around the product, I'd like to set constraints, for example: set an angle of 45° in relation to the product, and only be able to rotate around it (in relation to the midpoint of the part), and zoom in/out.

Do you have any solutions?

Hello

Have you tried by recording in E-drawing version from solidworks

You have the possibility, at least at the time of my test, to do it in web format, with possible manipulation

;)

I looked, impossible to do something since I have a student license currently...   Anyone use E-Drawing and know if we can export 3D files on the internet?

Hi

I have rechecked see attached image

On the other hand I don't know if with the student version, you also receive an edrawing

aide_edrawing_html.jpg

Excat, thank you very much I found it! Let's see if it's exploitable correctly and easily.

On the other hand I lost the appearance of my texture, is that normal?

I just noticed in my house too it has lost the texture :/

after I don't know if it's because of my machine maybe see with the other users if at their place it also does it... because at home the pc is not very stable :/

Someone can please  try to confirm

In fact finally I didn't lose the texture on e-drawing, and the HTML link I can't read here is the error message:

Internet Explorer 5.5 (or later) is required to view this eDrawings file. Other browsers may be used, if is configured correctly. Generated with eDrawings 2016 sp02.

I tried on I.E, I put the security at the lowest, nothing helps...

Ok I didn't tell you about the internet problem, because at home we have a firewall that blocks almost everyone, so I didn't know if this message was displayed because of the security that our IT department had put in place

I found its maybe it will work after

Impossible, as for the verification of the path in the HTML file, I took a look, and I don't understand much about it. I am currently downloading and installing the "  SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer", apparently it is the one that displays the e-drawing files in HTML
