In my piece I would like to have 2 reference planes whose distance is given by a variable (equations). Impossible to do this, either when creating the 2nd plan (refusal to put a variable), or by adding a dimension (the value is grayed out).

Simply create the second clip with a fixed distance from the first, then click on the background in the graphics area to reveal the distance dimension between the clips.
Double click on this dimension to edit it, and start typing with the "=" sign. The acquisition then makes it possible to refer to a global variable, or to use a mathematical expression.
This procedure can be applied to some other SW functions, so as to link a dimension to an equation.

I just struggled because like a fool I made a simple click on the map, it's a double-click that is needed. Lack of sleep, heat..???
