Dual screen

How do I connect a second screen, what do I need to do for the computer to find it? How to work with it?

You should have 2 VGA sockets on the back of your tower.

Then right click on your breau and screen resolution

Hello

When I was working on 2 screens, I had a kind of multi-socket plugged into the screen output of my tower, and my screens were plugged into it.

Windows found everything on its own!

Right-click on the "Screen Resolution" desktop (on Win 7).

At the top of the window you have a "Detect" button

Window  finds the installed products on its own if they are powered on when you turn on your PC

after seeing the type of graphics card you have

For windows 7 or Windows XP, you have to go to the display settings via the Control Panel or via a right click on the desktop. Windows 7 automatically detects connected screens, on Windows XP, you have to set them by yourself in these settings.

Several choices are available to you, screen dupplication, screen continuation...

It's not that simple

It depends on the graphics card. The vga socket is the 80s today we are more sure of the dvi-d

then if it's a public card there is HDMI

But the basic question: laptop or tower?

then type of card?

I have my main screen in Hdmi.

And my second screen connected to Dvi

Everything unravels itself.

Otherwise go through the nvidia config panel

and go to the tab "configure multiple afichage"

@bart

yes with an nvidia but imagine it's an AMD and the second port is on the tower!! Then there are the conflicts between the GPUs and then is it declared in the bios? The brand of chipset Intel nvidia etc

Finally, for a clear answer, it is necessary to have all the information about the machine before directing on tracks that can be misleading.

Hello

There must be another socket next to your DVI, HDMI or DISPLAYPORT, you have to plug into the sockets of the graphics card, forget the direct sockets of the motherboard (see image).

Once the screen is plugged in windows will recognize it, with a "Windows+P" you manage the displays (extend is the most used).

Once configured, you can click/drag your secondary windows on the second screen (such as a PLM, a technical document manager, outlook...).

This should be done relatively easily.

Hoping to have answered.

Have a nice day

Oh that's for sure, it all depends on the graphics card.

And above all, do not connect anything to the motherboard directly.

The 2 stations must be connected to the ports of your graphics card.

Can you give us details about the graphics card and your workstation configuration?

Thank you

the computer that has an acceptable graphics card can have 2 screens

either via its card output port or a port doubler

it's not the computer the problem is the graphics card

If you have a card at the level of the daisies

you're not going to ask him to drive 2 27 inch screens with a resolution of 2560*1420

she's going to tell you no I don't know how to do it ;-(

Hello

On a tower, don't forget to disable the graphics card of the motherboard in the BIOS

to keep only the two sockets (VGA and/or DVI) of the main card. 512MB minimum on this card is recommended. Once connected and restarted, the system should find the screens, then a turn on "Display Property" (right click on the screen, then property), then tab "Display Settings" (see also in the "Advanced" tab)

If it's not the driver of the card itself that takes care of it, see the manufacturer's driver in the start menu
