During my different projects (on SOLIDWORKS) I find myself drawing a lot symmetrically (Port-Starboard) its parts are from time to time exactly the same.
If I generate my BOM I have my "Part1" in quantity 1 and "PartSymmetry1" in quantity 1 which are two different parts. Would it be possible to make the nomenclature come out "Part1" quantity 2.
Hello, according to SW the symmetrical versions of components (under assembly) are saved in derived configuration or in new file, so no way.
@thibaudtiercelin you know better than me that it is possible to group the configurations under the same article, but it is quickly unmanageable and above all subject to error;)
Yes, it is possible by making symmetry in the room; To do this, you have to create the "right" part and rename this "Default" configuration to the right, then create a "left" configuration and do the body symmetry and remove the body, symmetrize in this configuration and it should work because it will only be one part instead of both.
That's what I was saying, knowing that the symmetry tab offers to save in derived configuration in the original component from the assembly. The problem is that if other parts also have configurations, in the grouped BOMs, their quantities are also cumulated,
