Strange behavior

Hello everyone,
With the sheet metal module directly I created this sheet metal (1/3 of a very flat cone). So far no problem

and when I unfold my piece, this is what it looks like
A rectangular cut-out

I'm attaching my SW2023 file, if anyone has an explanation

Hello,
For cone I advise you to do like this:

  • Top Shot → Sketch of the Low Edge of the Cone
  • make a plan // to the top plane, offset by the height of the cone
  • on this plan make the sketch of the high edge of the cone
  • Use the " Transition Fold" function in smooth mode for rolling or broken for crunching work.
Normally the unfolded works well (preferably with the K factor).
    Good luck...

Edit:

For me it comes from the function that considers that it is a rectangle that you deform to get your cone.
Good luck on the other hand for doing it like this!
That's how I make the cones (Transition fold function and following roll or transition fold as you choose, the 2 work):

And the unfolded is good:

Indeed, usually I do like you, this time I did it differently and I don't understand why it doesn't work. Mystery! Mystery!

For me it comes from the function, the goal is to stretch the material (scanning) so dev of m... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Hello,

Generation by the " Swept Folded Sheet" function offers an option called " Cylindrical/Conical Bodies", which seems to be essential to obtain a correct unfolded.
And it's true that it works...

Not for me impossible to select the Ligne4@Esquisse3...

Yes, I saw this option while looking earlier.
I tested, IT WORKS :money_mouth_face:

And for good reason: it does not exist.
Be careful not to confuse: Ligne3@Esquisse4 <> Ligne4@Esquisse3
This is the profile line of the scan.

The logic seems to be the same as for the function of flattening a surface, which requires designating an edge considered to be fixed.

Concentrate!
It also needs to be made visible, it's better :face_with_monocle:
It must be said that those who work with a black environment do not make it easy
