Hello
On a swinging staircase, I would like to create a removal of materials where my wooden steps cross with the stringer, on a straight part without problem but there I can't find a trick. I'm on Solidworks 2020.

Hello
Have you tried with the "Intersection" function that will allow you to generate the intersection volumes and then delete these bodies? Here I did it with a straight stringer but it must work with your curved stringer.
Kind regards
The problem is that my stringer and my steps are two different pieces and the function is not available. And the Intersection function does not work on sheet metal parts.
Hello
If your stringer is made of sheet metal, why not make your cut in its flattening.
Hello
You can use surface.
Select the surfaces of each piece that are in conflict, you will get a volume that you remove from your stringer.
Hello Benjamin,
Edit a step in the assembly
And do "Insert / Function / Fingerprint" then select your stringer
You create a relationship between the 2 pieces but you keep the associativity
Repeat for each step
Kind regards
Alan
A good material removal by sweeping by following the guide curves of the sheet metal on which the boards rest.
In the assembly if you are lazy and step by step otherwise (good luck)
Hello @benjamin.leray
the previous answers gave you X leads
which should in theory get you out of your problem
Personally, it bothers me to see the silt take up space on the step at a safe cost we will butter on it one day or another and depending on the age groups Participants will not get better
so I will make sure that my walk is full
To do this, we would have to shift the silt of the markets or the other way around, which from + is less job from Fab so cheaper all benef ;-)
