Save an assembly in body without having the files that compose it

Hello

I have a solidworks .asm assembly unfortunately I no longer have the 3D files that make up this assembly.

I can open it in solidworks in large design mode, I can take measurements, hide bodies, make cuts...
However, I can't use it as a full-fledged body in another assembly for example. It's frustrating.

I would like to save this assembly file in .prt or .stp to be able to at least use it as a dead body.
Do you have a technique? The "save as" tool is grayed out in large design.

Thank you for your help
Kind regards

In my opinion it's impossible, it can't export an empty body (what you open is just a graphic representation but absolutely not one or more bodies).

Hello

Normally you can via edrawings, you just need to right click on the assembly and open with then select edrawings then make save as and select STL. It's a hack at least you'll find a 3D with bodies

Thank you, you can retrieve a file by using a .stl from eDrawing.

But indeed, it is not optimal. We start with a volume file and end up with a mesh graphic file.
It cannot be used in an assembly as it is, impossible to place constraints.
To do this, the mesh in front must be converted. It's better than nothing.

All that remains is to close the subject by validating the answer that solved your problem.
