Save symmetrical assembly parts

Hello,

Another little question I ask myself...

I have symmetrical an assembly, so far so good. But now I'd like to be able to save the mirrored pieces as new pieces (even if it means losing the links). Is it possible to do that?

Thank you very much =)

Hello

Yes, it is possible.

In your assembly construction tree you should find the "Symmetric Component" function that you are reediting.

Then you click on the "next" arrow and you select the component(s) you want to make symmetrical and you click on the "Create symmetrical version" icon. The system will create a component for each selected version.

Kind regards

Yes, but once the part is symmetrical, it is linked to the original part (which is often good, we modify one, the other is modified). But in my case I would like to make a modification on one without it affecting the other.

I just tried: right-click on the part > list the external references > break everything.

I'm going to do some tests to see if it's suitable

Yes indeed it's the only solution.

In this case, remember to check "Insert functions..." so that you can work on the new geometry.
