Hello
I have several times the problem of taking 3D files from component suppliers and there are very often errors in surface interference constructions...
Luckily sometimes it is possible to correct them but most of the time not
Could it be possible that it is an error on my PC that creates all these surface problems?
Is it the supplier who created his 3D badly?
j(uses step files most of the time but also iges)
Yours truly,

Hello
This is the problem with transfer formats, there are often surfaces that are in error and sometimes it is not possible to repair them!
Edit: links on the subject to know the best practices to follow:

It is quite common the error comes while converting the file.
When the format creates errors, sometimes all you need to do is change the format for it to work.
If one step is broken, try the iges and quite often the other format goes better.

Hello
There was a technique a few years ago (at least 10 years, forgotten technique) which consisted of opening the WWTP, repairing the surfaces as much as possible and re-registering in WWTP to re-open it.
A faulty file was quite often found to be valid after a second pass through the STEP. Yes, I know, it's surprising.
To be tested on the latest versions of SolidWorks.
