To go fast and schematize a structure, I traced everything in 2D and 3D sketches. The problem now is that all the sketch strokes appear, even the ones behind the volume parts, and I wish they were hidden (see view below). How can we simply ensure that what should not be visible is not?
The idea is that I can quickly present structural solutions, without designing everything? The fact that everything is visible clutters larger assemblies.
You click on the sketch and you right-click and then hidden. If you want to hide only one part, you will have to make a 3d sketch to select all your sketches and then convert them and delete and cut what you don't want to see in this sketch and then hide all the others.
I think your problem would be a good request for improvement to make on the Solidworks portal because it's true that it would be a real time saver for project services...
Thank you for your advice, and especially ac cobra 427 !
I had indeed thought of transforming the sketch into a volume since the sketches remain in the foreground, and I was looking for a simple and quick way (I have several structures like the printscreen). The solution of the mechanically welded is quite fast, approx. 5 minutes per structure, and the result is correct. Thanks for the video link, it saved me time again!
My assemblies are constrained on the sketches, by hiding them the assemblies remain OK so not too much work to be expected.
So I think I'm going to do it like this, see if I can add more profile profiles. The idea of redrawing the sketches with only the visible parts didn't appeal to me too much, I want to be able to keep the 3D dynamics.
I'm also looking to make the improvement request, but it's directly at SolidWorks that you think you should ask for Cobra?
